Occupational Therapy is a health service which aims to allow individuals and groups achieve optimal functioning in activities of daily living including self-care, productivity, and leisure. Occupational Therapy is intended for people whose ability to perform daily activities reduced development, injury or illness, aging, psychological, social, cultural, or a combination of the above. The main goals of Occupational Therapy for children are to encourage and develop the child’s functional abilities necessary to perform activities of daily living, including self-care (personal hygiene, dressing, feeding), productivity (schooling and related obligations, gym) and leisure (socializing, reading, watching TV, sports).
